Hello! the correct number of chickens seen in this painting is 7. Some people said they saw some chickens in the cloud formations but that was purley in your imagination. there was also a few (about 20-25) people who thought the butterfly and mylar balloons were chickens. If you take a close look you will see they are indeed a butterfly and 2 balloons. Sorry. In the end almost everyone got most of the chickens and we had to draw names out of a hat.

Sorry but since no one got the correct number the huge cash prize (probably in the ka-billions) will not be claimed. The second place winners will get an original drawing of their favorite aydellon character. please contact me through the contact page if you wish to collect your drawing.

It was difficult to pick a winner this month for the prize for the chicken painting contest. We had people all over the world who gave us sad stories about how much they needed the prize money. There was little Danislav, David, Demyan, Dmitri from Istanibulia, Russia who wanted the money to buy his great grandmother a pair of nylon legs that she had lost in one of the wars. Or Albrecht, Archibald from the Egg sandwich Islands of New Netherlands, Bosiey, who wanted to buy 50lbs of wax to to construct wings that would fly him to a local 7-11 where he has dreamed of eating chili hot dogs for under 5 bucks. I was going to send a personal letter written with my own hand, but I thought why not instead give this wonderful personal, intimate letter and post it right here.—

Thank you so much for your contest submission. We've been overwhelmed

 by the response to our awards. Your application was

 one of over 500,000,00 we received in our spring round: the

intense demand in each of our award rounds clearly demonstrates a

pressing need. We were humbled by the stories we read in the

applications, impressed and inspired by the quality of the work

submitted.

As we read each application, we were struck by how many of

you confessed you were worried about the impact of CHICKENS

on your creative life, and yet so many of you found your

 CHICKENS deepened and focused by your CHICKENS. We read

again and again how money equals time – time for art and

time for family –

and we wish all CHICKENS had the time they need.

Our decision was not an easy one. In the end, we

 selected those who based on a complicated rubric

which evaluated artistic quality, but also took

into acount personal story along with factors over

which applicants had no control, such as how many

other applications came from artists doing similar

 work or in a particular geographic location. 

Although we are not able to give you the cash prize,

 we want you to know that we are moved by your work,

 and by the stories you shared.

We know that it is hard enough to preserve time for

CHICKEN work while CHICKENING, let alone to work

on applications, and we appreciate the effort you

put in to your submission.

you the best of luck with your work and with your family.

Get it? Luke SkyBAWKER??? As in bawk bawk! Okay, I would like to point out several things. First of all the most recent page, page 124 was done by the interns. That is right, the interns came up with the layout and overall pacing of the story. They really had some great ideas. We even toyed around with having a net thrown over Koa and the gang and Admiral Akkabar (from Return of the Jedi movie) popping into the frame and saying, “IT’S A TRAP!” We all laughed, but I was not sure if anyone would get that joke. ( the interns were mostly guys who loved Star Wars our two wonderful girl interns were not present at the time of the storyboard pitch.) but all in all I think they did a great job. It was Kents idea to have Ku turn around and have him face the General unicorn and also to give the General a scar. You should go and check out the interns if you have not they are under “STUDIO BELTRAN” They really are a great group of teenagers! I miss working with them. I also wanted to give a shout out to the fine younglings we met at the Boyscouts thingy. If this is you drop me a line and send my some of your art! go to contact and email me. the puppet is coming out great, except it looks like a crow and not like a chicken. It could be worse it could look like a frog.

Since I was a little egg, I have always wanted to do puppets. Yes you read me right. Puppets. Jim Henson has been a big influence on my life and I love puppets. Well sir, STUDIO BELTRAN as of this moment even as I write this blog, is preparing a puppet. I am really excited about the possibilites of adding puppets to the website and also the shows. Here is the plans the boys at the studio came up with. A chicken of course.

So sorry for not posting in.. well I suppose a long time. I have been sick. Yes even doctors get sick. I just wanted to make some comments about the current story line. There is a lot of important things that are coming up and you need to pay attention to all of it. As I often say, Aydellon is not like our world. Things work very differently there. At the time of Koa, you need to remember that it does not rain. Also there are some other clues to how things are done. For instance, food. Yes food. All this will come out but for those that are paying attention you should ask questions like, why do the robots need to eat? and why food? are they not machines? notice what everyone else is eating around the Aydellon world. Like I said this will all come out, I’m just giving you a heads up. speaking of food, I need to go and eat mine. Bet you can’t guess what I’m eating…….here is a hint. Ryhmes with blicken sloop. no. not hamburger.
